5A Kajal Aidasani

Good morning Principal, teachers and fellow schoolmates. I am Kajal Aidasani from class 5A. Sports Day is approaching and I believe we are all looking forward to this great event’s arrival. Hence, I would like to take this opportunity to share with all of you my most unforgettable Sports Day and it was last year’s Sports Day.

Last year, I was both an announcer and a cheerleader as I was one of the committee members of my house. While I was announcing the results of different sports events, I was so proud of what our schoolmates had achieved, especially of those who made new school records. Facing the arena, I saw lots of impressive scenes that were imprinted on my mind. I remember watching Girls 200m race and one of the participants caught my attention. Just when she was in the middle of the race, I could see that she wasn’t feeling very well as she put her hands on her chest and slowed down. To my surprise, she didn’t give up but kept running till she reached the finish line. I was deeply touched by her determination. This reminds me of a quote an adult once shared with me: Where there’s a will, there’s a way. If you remain determined, no matter how difficult the situation seems, you can still find a way to accomplish your goal. Like the girl I saw, I’m sure she experienced severe pain during the race. Yet, she finished the race with her dogged determination and this inspired me a lot.

So everyone, no matter what role you are going to play in the coming Sports Day, I hope that you will set a target and spare no effort to achieve it. For those athletes, please bear in mind that nothing’s impossible and you should never look down upon yourself. For me, this is going to be the second last Sports Day in my secondary school life. I don’t know how many more Sports Days you will take part in, but I hope that every one of you will make this coming Sports Day a memorable one. Let’s enjoy it together! Thank you!
