Good morning, principal, honorable guests, teachers and fellow schoolmates.
Recently, I’ve read some research reports about how to maintain good health. According to the research reports, it’s mentioned that children with irregular bedtime tend to have more serious behavioral problems such as hyperactivity, bad attitude and other social and mental problems. We can see how important it is to have regular and sufficient bedtime. And now, I’m going to share my thoughts on how we can maintain a healthy lifestyle.
First of all, I think we should go to bed at a regular time. Having adequate sleep plays a crucial role in our learning. It’s because it helps us restore our energy and therefore allows us to have better condition for learning and studying. Moreover, if we have enough sleep, we can absorb what the teachers teach us in class more easily. Hence, our academic performance will gradually be improved.
Apart from this, I suggest that we should all develop good sleeping habits. For example, we should go to bed at around the same time every night. As I know, some students stay up very late to have revision during examination period. I think we certainly shouldn’t do this as having inadequate sleep will greatly affect our performance during examination.
Besides sleeping, doing exercise regularly is also important in keeping ourselves healthy. Numerous researches and doctors have pointed out that we have to do exercise for at least 30 minutes a day. Instead of spending time in front of computers, we should spend time to do more exercise. What’s more, when choosing the kind of exercise to do, it’s important that we choose those that are within our ability.
On top of exercising, we should maintain a healthy lifestyle. Nowadays, the lifestyle of many teenagers is very unhealthy. For example, they spend a lot of time on playing computer games without rest and some may even play until midnight. This will not only harm our body and our eyes, but also lead to a lack of sleep. Therefore, we should all reflect on our lifestyle and get rid of those unhealthy habits starting from today.
To sum up, having a good sleeping habit, doing exercise regularly and maintaining a healthy lifestyle are the keys to stay healthy. I hope we all can make it! Thank you very much.
